For now
Give yourself permission to move slowly
In the first day or two, only a handful of things truly can't wait: an official pronouncement of death, care for dependents and pets, notifying your closest circle, confirming any organ donation wishes, and choosing a funeral home. Everything else, including most financial and legal matters, can wait until you've had a chance to breathe. If someone is pressing you to decide something this week, it's usually okay to say "not yet."
