Email, social media, cloud storage, photo libraries, streaming services, cryptocurrency, password managers, domain names, online businesses. Each platform has different rules for what happens after a death. Some require a court order; others accept a death certificate.
What you'll need
- A list of their online accounts
- A copy of the death certificate
- Letters Testamentary (your court appointment) (some platforms ask for it)
Good to know
Start with the password manager: If they used one, and you can access it, most other digital assets become manageable. If they didn't, work through their email inbox to find services they used.
